The 17th July festival will be celebrated in North America and the host city will be announced Very soon. Harari Sport and Cultural Federation (HSCF) would like kindly to inform everyone that HSCF is legally accountable and responsible for Hararis in North America and we answer only to our constituency as well as our communities and take full responsibilities in this matter. The decision that was taken on October 30th, 2011 meeting held by HSCF members to celebrate the July 2012 event in North America stands as is and will be realized. As a chairperson of the federation, I have a responsibility and obligation to officialize the aftermath of the October 30th, 2011 meeting to the Diaspora community as follow:

Ethiopian orders five Bombardier aircraft
The Ethiopian Airlines yesterday announced that it has placed firm orders for five Bombardier Q400 aircraft valued at 160 million dollars at least price. On February 13 Bombardier Aerospace announced that it received five firm orders for five Q400 NextGen aircraft from anonymous customers. Yesterday the Canadian airframer confirmed that Ethiopian Airlines is the customer that placed the firm order for five Q400 NextGen aircraft announced on February 13, 2012.

Ethiopia Plans to Seek Tougher UN Sanctions Against Eritrea
Ethiopia will push for stronger United Nations sanctions on Eritrea’s mining industry in an attempt to pressure its government to stop supporting rebels, said State Minister of Foreign Affairs Berhane Gebre Kristos.
Ethiopia wants tougher sanctions than those passed at the UN Security Council last year that advised mining firms to exercise greater “vigilance” when working in the Horn of Africa nation, he said in an interview in Addis Ababa, the capital, today.

A change of UK policy towards Eritrea?
Eritrea’s Foreign Minister, Osman Saleh, and special political advisor to the President, Yemane Ghebreab, visited the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the first time last week at the invitation of the UK Government. Analysts in the UK described the visit as a possible shift in UK policy. Eritrea is currently under UN sanctions for its role in destabilization in the Horn of Africa, its support for Al-Shabaab and for its refusal to respond to UN Security Council resolutions 1844 and 1907.
